Sums of Zeros of Solutions to Second Order Ode with Non-polynomial Coefficients
We consider the equation y′′ = F (z)y (z ∈ C) with an entire function F satisfying the condition |F (z)| ≤ A exp ` |z|ρ ρ ́ (ρ ≥ 1, A = const > 0). Let zk(y), k = 1, 2, . . . be the zeros of a solution y(z) to the above equation. Bounds for the sums j X k=1 1 |zk(y)| (j = 1, 2, . . . ) are established. Some applications of these bounds are also considered.
متن کاملOn the stability of linear differential equations of second order
The aim of this paper is to investigate the Hyers-Ulam stability of the linear differential equation$$y''(x)+alpha y'(x)+beta y(x)=f(x)$$in general case, where $yin C^2[a,b],$ $fin C[a,b]$ and $-infty
متن کاملEquilibrium Configurations of Epitaxially Strained Elastic Films: Second Order Minimality Conditions and Qualitative Properties of Solutions
We consider a variational model introduced in the physical literature to describe the epitaxial growth of an elastic film over a thick flat substrate when a lattice mismatch between the two materials is present. We study quantitative and qualitative properties of equilibrium configurations; i.e., of local and global minimizers of the free-energy functional. More precisely, we determine analytic...
متن کاملOn Second Order Homogeneous Linear Differential Equations with Liouvillian Solutions
We determine all minimal polynomials for second order homogeneous linear diierential equations with algebraic solutions decomposed into in-variants and we show how easily one can recover the known conditions on diierential Galois groups 12,19,25] using invariant theory. Applying these conditions and the diierential invariants of a diierential equation we deduce an alternative method to the algo...
متن کاملQualitative Theory of Half-linear Second Order Differential Equations
Some recent results concerning properties of solutions of the half-linear second order differential equation (∗) (r(t)Φ(x′))′ + c(t)Φ(x) = 0, Φ(x) := |x|p−2x, p > 1, are presented. A particular attention is paid to the oscillation theory of (∗). Related problems are also discussed.
